Golf at Highland
Highland Golf and Country Club is, first and foremost, a golf club. Since its founding in 1919, the game has been at the heart of Highland’s identity, bringing generations of members together through friendly competition, lifelong learning, and a shared love of the course. From its earliest days, Highland has been known for its beautiful setting, welcoming spirit, and deep respect for the traditions of the game.
Our 18-hole course carries the legacy of legendary golf course architect Willie Park Jr., whose design helped establish Highland as one of the region’s premier golf experiences. Over the years, Highland’s course has been celebrated not only for its beauty, but for the way it welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. It is a place where children have learned their first swings, families have shared rounds together, and accomplished golfers have found a course worthy of true competition.
The course is designed to be both enjoyable and challenging, offering a rewarding experience for a broad range of players. Highland is not simply difficult for difficulty’s sake; it is a thoughtful golf course that encourages strategy, skill, and appreciation for the game. That balance is what makes it special — approachable for new players, engaging for seasoned golfers, and memorable for everyone in between.
Highland’s commitment to the future of the game continues through the Mike Petrie Golf Academy, developed in partnership with Butler University. The indoor practice facility provides year-round opportunities for instruction, training, and player development, while also supporting Butler’s golf program through a long-term partnership. The Academy reflects Highland’s ongoing mission to grow the game, strengthen its golf community, and offer members access to exceptional resources in every season.
